In response to the attacks, the National Security Council issued a statement urging insurgent groups in the Deep South to cease all acts of violence, emphasizing that “terrorism cannot be used to legitimate their status or to press their demands.”

The region has experienced prolonged conflict since 2004, with several insurgent groups under the Barisan Revolusi Nasional (BRN) seeking self-rule in the predominantly Malay-Muslim provinces of Yala, Pattani, Narathiwat, and parts of Songkhla. Peace talks between the BRN and the Thai government, facilitated by Malaysia, remain suspended.
Authorities are investigating the attacks and have heightened security measures throughout the affected provinces.
